What is Buitron's Danse De Rue Savate (sm)?

Danse De Rue Savate (sm) is named after the question asked to start a fight -- do you want to dance? It is both aristocratic in nature with back alley brutality. This fighting system is the melting of disciplines from western pugilism that have been practiced by the Buitron family for more than five generations. Danse de Rue Savate (sm) combines traditional Savate from France along with their Basque family fighting art, which they call Zipota and is entwined with the knife fighting methods of Texas.

The core of the system is traditional Savate which dates back to the mid 1500's. This evolved from thugs, sailors, arrmies, and nobles alike. Today, Danse De Rue Savate (sm) has the fighting traditions of the British, Castilian, Catalan, Basque, French and Flemish. All this together is combined with the all American spirit of winning. Danse De Rue Savate (sm) is a blending of the proven fighting techniques of Europe including Boxing, Chausson, Zipota, Savate, Lutte Parissienne, Canne de Combat, Baton, and Panache.

Zipoteros are those who practice Danse de Rue Savate (sm). As the Zipotero practices they develop physical conditioning, flexibility, mental strength, discipline, and self confidence. Zipoteros come from all walks of life including physicians, business people, students, and law enforcement officers.

Professeur Paul-Raymond Buitron III

is the first American to receive the the prestigious Silver Glove in France as well as the first non-French to host a club and receive the Professorate in France. He was a contender to the World Super-Middleweight Title from 1991 to 1994, retiring due to a hand injury. Professeur Buitron founded both the International Guild of Danse De Rue Savate , INC and the National governing body of the sports of Savate; USA Savate / Boxe Francaise & Canne de Combat Commission, INC. Today as the Technical Director of the International Guild of Danse De Rue Savate, you will see him with a smile teaching and guiding zipoteros around the world.
